Urban Designer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a talented Urban Designer to join its Urbanism + Planning team in Dubai. You will help shape vibrant, sustainable communities by developing design concepts for residential, commercial and mixed‑use projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop urban design concepts, master plans and design guidelines aligned with sustainability principles.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies and demographic research to inform design strategies.
• Create detailed visualisations and technical documentation using advanced urban design software.
• Engage with clients, government agencies and community stakeholders to present design solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, transportation planners and sustainability consultants.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, zoning regulations and municipal guidelines.
• Prepare professional presentations for clients and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in urban design or master‑planning.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with urban design software and visualization tools.
