UX Lead - Risk and Fraud Platform

About the role

IBMC is assisting a client in hiring a UX Lead to drive a high-impact research and prototyping mandate for a complex risk and fraud management platform. This is a senior, hands-on, individual-contributor role embedded in an established product and engineering team, focused on qualitative research, journey mapping and high-fidelity prototyping rather than visual production.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, recruit and run in-depth qualitative research (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing) with professional Risk Managers
• Map complex workflows, workarounds, decision points and failure points, and synthesize findings into user segments, contexts and prioritized journeys
• Build high-fidelity information architecture, interaction models and interactive prototypes in Figma or equivalent, covering edge cases and complex states
• Run multi-iteration testing with risk professionals to validate concepts and document the rationale for implementation
• Act as an autonomous thought partner to product managers and engineers, challenging assumptions and proposing evidence-based improvements
• Partner with Product Managers and engineers during the build phase, keeping findings and decisions documented

Required profile

• 5 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in UX research and interactive product design (7-12 years target range)
• Proven track record of personally conducting qualitative research with specialist users and producing documented user segments and journeys
• Systems thinking and experience designing for dense data environments, multi-step decisions and high-consequence workflows
• Portfolio showing how research changed a design iteration and led to a successfully implemented product
• Experience working alongside Product Managers and software engineers through to production
• Fluent spoken and written English

Nice to have

• Experience in risk management, fraud detection, financial crime, AML/KYC, cybersecurity, compliance or expert-user B2B SaaS
• Background in trading platforms, banking, payments or complex data analytics tools
