Vice President - Development

About the role

The Vice President – Development will lead large‑scale residential, retail and mixed‑use projects from concept through delivery for Aldar in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the line manager, the role coordinates internal teams and external consultants to ensure projects meet strategic, financial and timeline objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new land, residential, retail and mixed‑use opportunities, shaping portfolio strategy and supporting joint‑venture and financing initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies, project costing and financial modelling in partnership with Partnerships & Investment and Project Management.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle, managing design, procurement, construction schedules and risk registers to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Negotiate heads of terms for asset purchases, leases and sales contracts in collaboration with legal, leasing and sales teams.
• Monitor budgets, progress reports and risk registers, providing regular updates to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of development management experience on projects valued over AED 500 million.
• At least 2 years in a managerial role within real‑estate development.
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, land economics, property valuation, architecture or engineering.
