Vice President, Ethics & Compliance – CEMEA

About the role

The Vice President, Ethics & Compliance for the Central, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region will lead Visa's compliance agenda across a diverse set of markets. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that Visa’s ethical standards and regulatory obligations are embedded in everyday business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Ethics & Compliance program activities across the CEMEA region, acting as the primary compliance partner to business units and support functions.
• Provide strategic, pragmatic advice to enable responsible growth while managing regulatory and compliance risks.
• Serve as the main liaison for AML, sanctions, and other regulatory matters with regional regulators, collaborating closely with Legal, Government Affairs, and Risk teams.
• Partner with Visa’s Financial Intelligence Analytics Center and Financial Crime teams on enhanced due diligence, sanctions reviews, AML investigations, and regulatory inquiries.
• Oversee regional compliance risk assessments and ensure robust processes, controls, governance, and decision‑making frameworks are in place.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in ethics, compliance, or regulatory risk within the payments or financial services industry.
• Deep knowledge of AML, sanctions, and broader regulatory frameworks applicable to the CEMEA region.
• Proven ability to advise senior business leaders and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building high‑performing compliance teams.
