Vice President, Learning & Development (UAE National)

About the role

Lead and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within Mashreq, delivering innovative, out‑of‑the‑box learning experiences that complement employees’ development journeys. The role is responsible for the strategic development, implementation and management of global and group learning programmes aligned with the bank’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute a holistic learning strategy covering behavioural and technical needs for assigned groups.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify learning needs and design innovative training solutions.
• Develop and implement technology‑enabled learning solutions and content across the bank.
• Lead and enhance global structured learning programmes and leadership development modules.
• Manage and continuously improve the Learning Management System and ecosystem for all locations.
• Plan and monitor the L&D annual budget, DNA and calendar, ensuring regulatory training compliance.
• Liaise with external training providers and build in‑house online content capabilities.
• Report learning and development metrics to senior management and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of Learning & Development experience, preferably in banking or finance.
• Proven expertise in training needs analysis, solution deployment and learning impact evaluation.
• Experience managing e‑learning development and a Learning Administration function.
• Strong communication, influencing, interpersonal and analytical skills with senior‑level stakeholder management.
• High proficiency in authoring tools and administration of Learning Management Systems.
• Knowledge of AI‑enabled learning technologies and ISO 29990 quality standards (desirable).
