Visiting Assistant Professor – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Ajman University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor to join its Mechanical Engineering department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, conduct high‑quality research, and contribute to the university’s academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses, incorporating innovative, technology‑based teaching methods.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and provide academic advising.
• Engage in research activities, publish in reputable journals and conferences, and seek interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and accreditation processes.
• Build industry partnerships, secure collaborative projects, and facilitate technology transfer.
• Maintain a respectful, culturally sensitive learning environment and foster effective relationships across the organization.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record in areas such as thermofluids, manufacturing, or materials.
• Strong research and publication record in top‑tier journals.
• Experience supervising student projects and theses.
• Demonstrated community service, scholarly activities, and collaborative research experience.

Required skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Familiarity with the Credit Hour academic system.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
