VTS Operator

About the role

The VTS Operator ensures the safety of navigation and efficient marine operations within AD Ports Group’s territorial waters. You will monitor vessel traffic, provide nautical services, and act as the first responder to maritime emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and regulate vessel traffic to ensure compliance with local, national and international regulations.
• Maintain VHF communications and broadcast routine safety information, visibility reports and weather updates.
• Oversee radar, CCTV and AIS surveillance across the VTS area.
• Operate vessel traffic management systems to manage safe traffic flow.
• Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures and movements for optimal voyage planning.
• Initiate emergency procedures and liaise with emergency services when required.
• Report equipment deficiencies, hazardous situations and non‑compliant vessels to the VTS Supervisor.
• Adhere to safe work instructions, SOPs and incident reporting systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• VTS Certification (C0103‑1) or equivalent maritime/transport qualification with relevant experience.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and handle stakeholder interactions.
