Water Quality Technician – Level 1

About the role

The Water Quality Technician 1 will support the Manager and Assistant Manager in ensuring the cleanliness, safety and optimal operation of all water‑based attractions at Atlantis, The Palm. This role is essential to delivering a world‑class guest experience across swimming pools, water‑park pools, slides, rides and related water features.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling and coordinating daily cleaning, maintenance and improvement works for pools, slides, rides and water features.
• Oversee Water Quality Technicians and external contractors to guarantee work is completed safely, on time and to high standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of pool areas, plant rooms and associated facilities to verify cleanliness, safety and operational readiness.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot escalated water‑quality or safety issues.
• Manage team rosters, leave administration and contractor schedules to ensure continuous coverage.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in pool or water‑attraction maintenance within a hospitality or leisure environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Good communication skills for coordination with multiple departments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of water‑quality standards, pool chemistry and treatment systems.
• Familiarity with inspection and maintenance procedures for aquatic facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
