Water Resource Engineer

About the role

Jacobs is expanding its water engineering team in Dubai and is looking for a Water Resource Engineer to support large‑scale water and wastewater projects. You will work on detailed design, modelling and coordination of water infrastructure, delivering solutions from concept through to construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for water‑related infrastructure.
• Model and design water and wastewater networks, including transmission, distribution and trunk lines, as well as pumping stations.
• Develop concepts through detailed design to final authority approvals and provide IFC drawings.
• Coordinate design outputs, perform quality‑assurance checks and liaise with authorities, clients, consultants and contractors.
• Review construction activities, ensure compliance with designs, and approve shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing water and wastewater systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

Required skills

• Civil 3D/BIM for infrastructure projects.
• Hydraulic modelling tools and GIS.
• ArcGIS, AutoCAD, WaterCad/GEMS, SewerCad/GEMS, StormCAD.
• Ability to perform clash analysis and integrate utility networks.
• Use of BIM technology throughout design, construction and commissioning.
