Wound Care Staff Nurse

About the role

Provides direct and indirect age‑specific care for patients in the Wound Care Unit at American Hospital Dubai. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, intervention and coordination across the care continuum while adhering to Joint Commission International standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform age‑specific patient assessments and continual critical‑care evaluation of physical and psychological needs.
• Coordinate and prioritize care plans with a multidisciplinary team, revising them as needed.
• Apply and monitor Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, provide burn care, and manage colostomy/ileostomy appliances.
• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, document findings, and ensure safe handling of narcotic and controlled drugs.
• Participate in unit meetings, Continuous Quality Improvement activities, and maintain mandatory education and competency requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia (UAE nationals exempted from experience requirements).
• Minimum of two years recent post‑graduate experience in inpatient/wound‑care nursing.
• Valid license/registration in the home country or last place of employment and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
