Accountant – Tax & Management Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join an accounting and tax consultancy firm. The role involves preparing management accounts, handling VAT and corporate tax obligations, and supporting various ad‑hoc projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss and balance sheet.
• Register for VAT and corporate tax and submit returns via the FTA portal.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and manage monthly processing.
• Set up and maintain cloud accounting systems.
• Ensure accurate sales recording, issue reporting, and robust issue‑highlighting mechanisms.
• Manage accounts receivable: invoicing, debtor tracking, and periodic monitoring.
• Manage accounts payable: purchasing system maintenance, creditor statement reconciliation, and query resolution.
• Participate in ad‑hoc project work as required.

Required profile

• Ambitious, confident, and professional with strong communication, organisational and analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated accounting experience, preferably within an accounting firm or industry setting.
• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• UAE experience is advantageous; training will be provided on UAE‑specific aspects.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
