Associate Staff Physician, Emergency Medicine

About the role

The Associate Staff Physician in Emergency Medicine provides direct patient care within the Integrated Hospital Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Working under the supervision of a Consultant, the physician diagnoses, treats, and refers patients as needed while ensuring culturally sensitive care.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and treat patients in the Emergency Medicine department.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and specialized medical care.
• Analyze records, reports, and test results to establish diagnoses.
• Gather comprehensive patient histories and explain procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform surgical procedures and operations appropriate to emergency care.
• Document patient evaluations and treatment notes for continuity of care.
• Collaborate with medical and non‑medical staff to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.
• Participate in administrative duties, committees, and performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide on‑call coverage as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB) with recognized specialty certification in Emergency Medicine.
• For Tier 1/2 candidates: board‑certified, no additional experience required.
• For Tier 3 candidates: minimum 3 years of specialist clinical experience post‑qualification.
• UAE nationals: minimum 1 year of specialist experience post‑qualification.
