About the role

The Head of Legal will provide strategic legal guidance across corporate, commercial and operational matters for a food manufacturing business in the UAE. This senior position involves overseeing compliance, contract management, litigation and regulatory affairs to protect the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory on corporate, commercial and operational issues, interpreting relevant laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, distributors, vendors and employees, ensuring compliance with UAE law.
• Develop and enforce internal compliance policies, support corporate governance and board matters.
• Manage litigation, disputes and claims, liaising with external counsel and representing the company when needed.
• Oversee regulatory affairs, maintain licenses, permits and filings with local authorities.
• Identify legal risks, conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
• Draft and update company policies to align with legal and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s (LLM) is a plus.
• Qualified lawyer/legal practitioner with UAE experience preferred.
• 5–8 years of legal experience, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of UAE commercial, labor, food safety and free‑zone regulations.
• Proven experience in contract management, compliance and litigation.
