Mechanical Construction Supervisor

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Mechanical Construction Supervisor to lead on‑site mechanical, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fire‑proofing works. The role ensures that construction activities are performed safely, to quality standards and in line with project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise field personnel and subcontractors across mechanical, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fire‑proofing disciplines.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, HSE meetings and site walks, and record safety observations.
• Monitor daily progress, verify compliance with specifications, procedures, safety and quality requirements.
• Prepare and submit reports on construction progress, manpower forecasts and inspection status.
• Escalate any non‑conformances to the Construction Manager or Superintendent.
• Attend subcontractor cost‑awareness sessions, understand BOQ and responsibility matrices, and provide technical solutions.
• Control and issue materials to subcontractors, ensuring proper preservation and traceability.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced staff and input feedback into construction observation forms.
• Track and close site instructions and additional work items.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising mechanical and piping construction activities on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment installation and maintenance, including gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors and steam turbines.
• Ability to enforce safety standards, conduct toolbox talks and manage site‑level HSE processes.
• Effective communication skills for reporting, coaching and coordinating with subcontractors.
