About the role

The Specialist Physician in the OB/Gyne Ward delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care while acting as a clinical role model within the division. The post holder supports junior staff, participates in ward rounds, and ensures comprehensive coverage for inpatient and outpatient services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards for obstetrics and gynecology.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Supervise junior medical staff and share responsibility for their patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, other specialties, and support services to plan safe, holistic care.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, covering evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives, audits, and incident reporting.
• Adhere to hospital policies on admissions, consultations, surgical procedures, discharge, and follow‑up.

Required profile

• Qualified physician with specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
