Spine Technician – Intraoperative Neurophysiology (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

The Spine Technician provides intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) for cranial and spine surgeries, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the operating‑room team, the technician delivers real‑time neuro‑monitoring data and interprets critical signals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform real‑time IONM for cranial and spinal procedures, including SSEPs, MEPs, EMG, EEG, and BAEPs.
• Independently manage assigned cases across operating rooms, maintaining continuous and accurate data acquisition.
• Interpret neurophysiological signals, detect changes, and promptly communicate findings to the surgical team.
• Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain neuromonitoring equipment and electrodes before and during surgery.
• Document monitoring data, events, and interventions in line with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Assist with patient positioning, electrode placement, and pre‑operative assessments related to neuromonitoring.
• Ensure compliance with OR safety protocols, infection control, and professional practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Neurophysiology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
• CNIM certification preferred or eligibility to obtain.
• Proven experience in intraoperative neuromonitoring for cranial and spine surgeries.
• Strong communication skills for high‑pressure surgical environments.
