Audit & Assurance Manager – Banking

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Audit & Assurance Manager to lead banking engagements across the UAE. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality audit services, building trust with stakeholders, and ensuring rigorous assessment of control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review transaction flows and test controls early in the audit cycle to shape the audit approach.
• Provide constructive challenge on engagement issues and suggest mitigating testing when controls are ineffective.
• Apply professional skepticism, especially regarding fraud risk and governance communication.
• Identify value‑adding opportunities and integrate specialist expertise into audit teams.
• Participate in group risk assessment and coordinate with component auditors.
• Prepare and review referral instructions, evaluate component auditor responses, and run regular file checks.
• Communicate expectations, deadlines, and project plans to the engagement team and client management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in audit and assurance within the banking sector.
• Strong ability to assess control environments and recommend appropriate testing.
• Excellent professional skepticism and judgment on fraud and misstatement risks.
• Effective stakeholder management and clear communication skills.
• Capability to lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary audit teams.
