Back End Developer – Java & Spring Boot (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Back End Developer to design and build robust Java applications using Spring Boot. The role is based in our Abu Dhabi office and will run for a 12‑month contract, focusing on micro‑services, security, and cloud deployment on Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java applications with Spring Boot, applying core Spring concepts such as Dependency Injection, IoC, and AOP.
• Implement micro‑service architectures and RESTful APIs using Spring MVC.
• Integrate security mechanisms with Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT for authentication and authorization.
• Manage data access using Spring Data, SQL databases, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Deploy and operate applications on Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with teams to containerise services with Kubernetes and ensure compliance with OWASP security standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services, Kubernetes, and API management.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
