Backend Engineer - Wallets

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in wallet infrastructure to build secure, scalable, high‑performance systems that power global digital asset solutions. The role focuses on mission‑critical backend services for decentralized finance applications, working with international teams in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services for secure wallet infrastructure and digital asset operations.
• Build and optimise high‑performance microservices handling large‑scale real‑time transactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver innovative backend solutions aligned with product and business needs.
• Ensure platform security by implementing best practices to protect user assets and system integrity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve backend performance issues while identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Stay current with emerging blockchain, peer‑to‑peer, and backend development technologies.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience developing backend services with Node.js and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience building high‑availability platforms and working with peer‑to‑peer or decentralized technologies.
• Familiarity with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Demonstrated ability to implement secure coding practices and backend security principles.
• Comfortable learning new technologies and frameworks quickly.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
