About the role

The client is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide on‑site and remote end‑user assistance at their Abu Dhabi office. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension. The role involves supporting a wide range of devices, applications, and network services for internal users.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver on‑site and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, IP phones, mobile devices and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network incidents; escalate complex cases to Tier 2/3.
  • Handle service requests such as new computer setups, software installations and system upgrades.
  • Document incident resolution steps in the Service Desk tool.
  • Install, configure and maintain Windows (7‑11), macOS and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Administer Active Directory accounts, Exchange Online and Office 365.
  • Use diagnostic tools for connectivity, workstation and mobile device issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, remedial repairs and support branch IT projects.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and ITIL/ISO 20000/ISO 27001 standards.

Required profile

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in desktop/end‑user support or help‑desk operations.
  • Strong knowledge of PCs, laptops, hardware peripherals and networking protocols.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with solid communication and prioritisation skills.

Required skills

  • Windows 7/8/10/11 and Windows Server 2012/2016/2019.
  • macOS (latest versions).
  • Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365 administration.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune.
  • SCCM, Lansweeper, ManageEngine Desktop Central.
  • Mobile device support (iOS, Android) and MDM solutions.
  • Remote support tools (ME Desktop Central, SCCM).
  • ITSM tools (ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, ServiceNow, Remedy).
  • Virtualisation platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops).
  • Scripting basics (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Google Workspace).
