Fire Truck Driver Operator

About the role

The Fire Truck Driver Operator safely drives fire appliances and associated equipment to support fire and emergency response across the organisation’s sites. The role includes daily vehicle checks, attending incident scenes, supporting firefighting and rescue activities, and assisting with routine maintenance and equipment stowage.

Key responsibilities

• Drive fire appliances and ancillary vehicles safely and lawfully to and from incidents, exercises and station duties.
• Use defensive driving techniques and follow road traffic legislation and emergency driving policies.
• Operate pumps, ladders and other appliance‑mounted equipment during operational duties.
• Complete pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle and equipment checks, record findings and report defects.
• Support routine maintenance, cleaning and minor servicing to keep equipment ready.
• Ensure correct stowage and inventory of firefighting and rescue equipment.
• Assist with scene safety, traffic management and casualty support as required.
• Follow health and safety policies, PPE requirements and regulatory inspections.
• Report incidents, near misses and vehicle defects promptly.
• Maintain required driver licences, endorsements and medical fitness.
• Attend training, drills and competency assessments.
• Complete vehicle logbooks, defect reports and operational records accurately.

Required profile

• Full UAE driving licence with the appropriate category for fire appliances.
• Relevant vocational training or certificates in appliance or pump operation (desirable).
• Previous experience in fire, rescue, emergency services or similar environments (advantageous).
• Demonstrable safe‑driving record and ability to work under operational pressure.
• Medical fitness to drive heavy emergency vehicles.
