Head of Audit Monitoring

About the role

The Regulatory Authority (RA) seeks a senior leader to head its Audit Monitoring function. You will oversee risk‑based supervision of audit firms and principals operating in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, ensuring high‑quality audits that underpin investor confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the division’s supervisory strategy, risk‑management framework and annual audit supervision plan.
• Provide expert leadership on statutory financial audit, assurance and corporate reporting matters.
• Set supervisory priorities, determine risk appetite and lead the risk‑based assessment process for auditors.
• Formulate, maintain and continuously improve monitoring policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Lead a team of audit supervisors in day‑to‑day implementation of the supervision plan.
• Conduct outreach, education and guidance initiatives on audit quality, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the RA with thought‑leadership in audit regulation and maintain key stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in statutory financial audit, assurance and corporate reporting.
• Proven track record in leading audit supervision or regulatory functions.
• Strong understanding of risk‑based supervisory approaches.
• Ability to formulate strategic direction and influence high‑impact audit matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
