Junior Civil Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of construction projects from concept through to completion. The role involves preparing engineering designs, reviewing specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs by analysing reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and geotechnical data.
• Calculate project costs, including labour, material and related expenses.
• Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments and assemble relevant data.
• Develop construction specifications, plans and schedules, and monitor site progress to verify compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and enforce project policies and procedures.
• Maintain project databases, write simple programs, enter data and perform backups.
• Stay informed of federal, state and local regulations and advise management on compliance actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, architectural engineering or architecture.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licence or Registered Architect (RA) credential.
• 4‑5 years of engineering or architectural experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and AutoCAD.
• Experience using LISP for drafting automation.
• Database design and basic programming for data management.
