Legal Advisor

About the role

The Legal Advisor will support Noatum Ports by providing expert legal counsel across commercial, contractual, corporate, and litigation matters. The role ensures compliance with group governance, international and national legislation, and protects the company’s financial and reputational interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily legal advice to safeguard business interests and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
• Review, negotiate, and grant sign‑off on contracts and agreements to minimize risk.
• Develop, update, and support compliance‑related policies, procedures, and standards.
• Prepare and present reports on compliance initiatives, legislative changes, and emerging regulatory trends.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating legal documents, policies, and contracts.
• Validate financial, regulatory, governmental, IT, and other contractual agreements for legal compliance.
• Guide lawyers through the legal due‑diligence process for transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of corporate and commercial documents, including certified copies.
• Supervise external counsel, prepare briefs, and coordinate legal matters across jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve contractual discrepancies and manage claims or disputes.
• Identify skill gaps and training needs for country‑level legal teams.
• Contribute to the overall legal strategy aligned with group objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLM or PhD preferred).
• 12‑15 years of relevant legal experience, especially in contracts, construction, and project law.
• Experience with nationally or internationally renowned law firms or corporate legal departments, preferably in ports or transport sectors.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
