Linux Administrator – Enterprise Systems

About the role

The Linux Administrator will manage and secure enterprise‑wide Linux environments, ensuring systems are patched, hardened, and compliant with industry standards. You will lead OS‑level patching, kernel hardening, SELinux enforcement and automation to minimise downtime for critical business services.

Key responsibilities

• Execute OS‑level security patching across RHEL, CentOS and related distributions.
• Align patching processes with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG requirements.
• Perform kernel‑level hardening and configure SELinux policies to meet enterprise security standards.
• Design, develop and maintain automated patching workflows using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
• Monitor patch compliance, generate audit reports and support regulatory assessments.
• Plan and execute rolling updates, high‑availability strategies and proactive system maintenance.
• Provide troubleshooting support for patch‑related incidents and overall system performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of patch status, configurations and automation scripts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on Linux system administration in large‑scale, enterprise environments.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as banking is preferred.
• Proven ability to implement security hardening, manage compliance and automate operations.

Required skills

• Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux).
• SELinux configuration and troubleshooting.
• Kernel tuning and hardening techniques.
• Ansible playbook development.
• Red Hat Satellite or equivalent patch management tools.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG standards.
• Automation scripting for patch deployment and configuration management.
