Manager - Value Added Services (VAS)

About the role

We are seeking a Manager – Value Added Services (VAS) to lead the evolution of a scalable, multi‑vertical payments ecosystem in Dubai, UAE. The role will design and scale a plug‑and‑play VAS layer that enables products across mobility, lending, loyalty, and airtime to consume payment APIs with high concurrency, bank‑grade security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own a microservices‑based architecture that abstracts escrow, settlement and reconciliation.
• Lead engineering for multiple high‑growth verticals such as ride‑hailing, micro‑finance, loyalty & rewards, and airtime & bills.
• Ensure 99.9%+ uptime on AWS services (EKS, Aurora, Redis, SQS, Lambda, Terraform).
• Drive event‑driven architectures using Kafka/SQS and promote AI adoption within engineering.
• Hire, mentor and manage a team of 15+ engineers.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in senior leadership.
• Strong fintech background covering compliance, real‑time settlement and bookkeeping.
• Proven experience building marketplace or lending platforms.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go, Java or Rust.
• Deep cloud‑native expertise on AWS (EKS, Aurora, Redis, SQS, Lambda, Terraform).
• Experience with event‑driven systems (Kafka, SQS) and AI integration.
• Microservices architecture design and implementation.
