Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) – Compliance

About the role

The MLRO Officer will lead anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CFT) efforts for BingX EU, a prospective MiCA‑licensed crypto exchange operating under UAE regulations. The role ensures strict compliance with VARA, DFSA, and Central Bank requirements while supporting the company’s growth in the virtual‑asset space.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison with VARA, handling all regulatory filings, audits, and communications.
• Monitor changes in UAE virtual‑asset regulations (VARA, DFSA, Central Bank) and update internal policies.
• Oversee the transaction monitoring system to detect suspicious on‑chain and off‑chain activities.
• Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the UAEFIU promptly.
• Conduct enhanced due‑diligence on high‑risk customers and wallets.
• Develop, review, and enforce AML and compliance policies tailored for virtual‑asset service providers.
• Implement Travel Rule solutions and manage sanctions screening against OFAC, UN, and UAE lists.
• Prepare regular compliance reports for the Board and Senior Management.
• Lead AML/compliance training sessions and promote a strong compliance culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience dealing directly with VARA, either as an employee of a regulated entity or as a consultant.
• Strong background in AML/CFT, preferably within virtual‑asset or crypto environments.
• Experience in policy development, regulatory reporting, and sanctions screening.
• Excellent understanding of UAE financial regulations and international sanctions regimes.
