Platform Reliability Engineer - 1 year Contract

About the role

The Platform Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the day‑to‑day health of our Nutanix on‑prem and AWS recovery environments. This 1‑year contract role focuses on ensuring platform availability, performance, and capacity while leading backup, disaster‑recovery, and migration initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own operational health of Nutanix on‑prem stacks and AWS recovery environments.
• Monitor availability, performance, and capacity of critical workloads; respond to platform‑level incidents.
• Operate Rubrik Enterprise for backup and recovery, including policies, schedules, retention, replication to AWS, and storage capacity.
• Validate protection of priority (P1/P2) workloads through regular restore tests.
• Plan and execute disaster‑recovery and cyber‑recovery exercises; maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Support workload migrations from VMware and physical infrastructure to Nutanix, including pre‑ and post‑migration validation.
• Troubleshoot platform and workload issues on Windows Server and Linux (excluding routine BAU patching).
• Automate reliability tasks (backup health checks, capacity reports, DR readiness) using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability, recovery SLAs, and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud operations within enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with backup and recovery, disaster‑recovery testing, and workload migrations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills on Windows Server and Linux platforms.
• Experience with Nutanix (or similar HCI) and VMware vSphere in production.
• Proven ability to lead or participate in DR tests and produce documentation.
