Senior Operational Excellence Engineer

About the role

Aquanow is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, operation and continuous improvement of its cloud‑native platform. The role combines hands‑on infrastructure work with strategic guidance to ensure the reliability, scalability and security of a global digital‑asset trading system.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure across multi‑account environments.
• Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform on Amazon EKS.
• Develop and enforce Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices using Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Enhance deployment reliability through CI/CD improvements, progressive delivery and automation.
• Create operational tooling to reduce manual effort across engineering teams.
• Define and implement platform reliability, observability and incident‑management standards.
• Monitor and optimise platform health, performance, scalability and resiliency.
• Support distributed data and streaming systems, including Kafka/Confluent Platform.
• Lead technical investigations, post‑mortems and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards throughout the organisation.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align infrastructure work with business priorities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Platform, DevOps, SRE or Operational Excellence roles.
• Strong background with AWS cloud services.
• Proven track record of building and operating large‑scale Kubernetes environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Terragrunt and CI/CD pipelines.
