Senior Product Owner – Payments & Remittance

About the role

The Senior Product Owner will drive Mashreq's Payments & Remittance portfolio, shaping digital payment use cases and leading global squads to deliver innovative solutions across the UAE and emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of 40+ staff members, both direct and outsourced, across multiple geographies.
• Develop robust business cases for new digital payments initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
• Establish and guide squads responsible for Payments & Remittance and Bill Payments delivery, monitoring KPIs and ensuring timely execution.
• Support expansion into new markets such as Pakistan and Egypt.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, treasury, CXCG, technology and operations teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Partner with technology teams to design scalable, secure solutions, emphasizing operational efficiency.
• Lead enhancements for cross‑border money transfers, focusing on SWIFT and alternative payment rails.
• Monitor financial performance, approve resource allocation and represent the bank in external forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Payments & Remittance product implementation within financial services.
• Proven track record in digital transformation and scaling digital products.
• Deep understanding of digital payment flows and product management.
• Experience managing cross‑border money transfer initiatives.
