Software Engineer, Backend (Golang)

About the role

1inch is a leading DeFi ecosystem that powers swaps, limit orders and liquidity tools across multiple blockchains. As a Backend Software Engineer you will build and operate the services that connect users to the blockchain, ensuring high‑performance, reliable and secure transaction routing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs that power 1inch products and internal platforms.
• Improve scalability, reliability, maintainability and developer experience of existing systems.
• Integrate with smart‑contract platforms, blockchain data sources and external services.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring, incident response and post‑mortem processes.
• Optimize services for performance, resilience and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, blockchain and infrastructure teams to deliver distributed systems.
• Participate in code reviews, testing workflows and engineering best practices.
• At senior level, own services end‑to‑end, define technical direction and mentor other engineers.

Required profile

• Professional experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in Golang or a comparable systems programming language with solid concurrency and performance knowledge.
• Solid understanding of system design fundamentals, including services, data flows, reliability and maintainability.
• Familiarity with blockchain platforms, smart contracts, transaction handling and on‑chain integrations.
• Experience with containerised services and modern deployment practices.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
• For senior candidates: experience owning projects end‑to‑end and contributing to architectural decisions.
