Tooling Technician

About the role

The Tooling Technician will maintain and improve all tooling jigs, fixtures, composite tooling, and CNC fixtures to meet production and customer requirements. This role supports business objectives by ensuring tooling reliability and precision.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade tooling, jigs, fixtures, and CNC fixtures.
• Evaluate and repair defects in composite tooling.
• Interpret customer drawings, procedures, and technical documents.
• Set up and operate metal‑working machines such as saws, drills, lathes, vertical milling machines, belt & disk sanders, grinders, and welding equipment.
• Use precision measurement tools (micrometres, calipers, height gauges) to verify tooling dimensions.
• Work to tight production targets while ensuring quality standards.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in tooling or a related manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education.
• Excellent command of English.

Required skills

• Micrometres, calipers and height gauges.
• Composite material knowledge (carbon fibre, fiberglass).
• Metal type familiarity (aluminium, titanium, steel).
• Technical drawing interpretation.
• Metal‑working machine operation (saws, drills, lathes, vertical milling, sanders, grinders, welding).
• Repair of composite tooling defects.
