Accountant (US GAAP) – Trading & Import Export

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing trading business in Dubai that requires a highly organised and analytical Accountant. The role focuses on managing accounting operations for import/export activities and supporting a dynamic, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting and general ledger activities.
• Monitor cash flow, perform reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable/receivable.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Oversee import/export financial transactions and track logistics costs.
• Coordinate with 3PL providers and internal operational teams.
• Assist with audits, compliance and preparation of financial documentation.
• Provide senior management with financial insights and reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Based in Dubai, UAE.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience in Trading, FMCG, Import/Export, or 3PL sectors.
• Strong understanding of import/export operations and supply‑chain financial processes.
• Experience working with 3PL providers and logistics‑related accounting.
• Exposure to M&A, financial due diligence or business restructuring is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
