Application Support Consultant - Banking

About the role

We are seeking an Application Support Consultant to provide day‑to‑day support for core banking applications. The role will act as the bridge between internal IT teams, external vendors and business users, ensuring that production issues are resolved within agreed service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor application availability, incidents, alerts and scheduled jobs, and coordinate resolution with IT and business stakeholders.
• Manage incident triage, escalation, and communication while adhering to SLA commitments.
• Lead problem management activities, including root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate change and release management for application upgrades, patches and deployments.
• Maintain accurate records in the ITSM platform and keep support documentation, SOPs and knowledge articles up to date.
• Interact with OEMs, application vendors and third‑party service providers to resolve technical defects and obtain patches.
• Prepare and present regular service, incident and SLA/KPI reports to management and participate in service review meetings.
• Support critical production periods such as month‑end and end‑of‑day processing and handle major incident communications.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in application support, IT operations or service management, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and hands‑on experience with incident, problem, change and service request management.
• Proven ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors and OEMs to drive timely issue resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation and reports.
