Area Manager – Travel Retail

About the role

The Area Manager – Travel Retail will lead Bateel’s travel retail operations across existing and new markets worldwide. Reporting to the Director of Travel Retail, you will own the full operational engine, from order and inventory management to merchandising, field execution and client relationship development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with travel retail operators, duty‑free partners, airlines and distributors, securing new contracts and business opportunities.
• Lead commercial negotiations, support sales targets and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
• Oversee daily operations of travel retail outlets and duty‑free locations, ensuring timely purchase orders, deliveries, replenishment and inventory control.
• Implement visual merchandising standards, create planograms and promotional displays, and monitor in‑store execution.
• Lead, coach and develop merchandising, promoter and operational support teams across multiple locations.
• Coordinate with internal functions such as supply chain, logistics, finance, marketing and retail operations to ensure seamless execution.
