Assistant Accountant – Real Estate (Dubai)

About the role

Laforet Real Estate is seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team in Dubai. You will support day‑to‑day accounting operations while ensuring compliance with UAE anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CFT) regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks, bookkeeping, and maintain financial records.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts and carry out bank reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile real‑estate sales, leasing, commissions and client transactions.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and support audit activities.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
• Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks.
• Review transactions for AML risks and escalate suspicious activities as required.
• Maintain MLRO documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments to align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of UAE real‑estate accounting experience.
• Previous exposure to AML compliance or MLRO responsibilities in the UAE (preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages are a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Knowledge of UAE AML/CFT regulations, KYC and CDD procedures.
