Assistant Manager Accounting

About the role

The Assistant Manager Accounting will support the Accounting Manager in delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Working closely with multiple departments, the role combines day‑to‑day bookkeeping with strategic analysis and team supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing internal controls, policy handbooks and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Analyze and improve financial software applications such as Oracle Financials and Hyperion.
• Redefine financial system set‑ups to align with organizational growth, new ventures and regulatory changes.
• Review sub‑ledger entries, reconcile with the general ledger and liaise with IT on discrepancies.
• Prepare periodic financial statements, including trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and accruals.
• Track and record financial transactions, coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
• Provide industry trend analysis, tender and quotation support, and ad‑hoc business insights.
• Organise, supervise and train accounting team members to maintain efficient operations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month‑end close processes.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external auditors.
• Leadership capability to supervise and develop junior staff.
