Assistant Manager – Corporate & International M&A Direct Tax

About the role

Join Grant Thornton UAE’s Direct Tax service line as an Assistant Manager, supporting corporate and international M&A tax matters. You will work with a global team to deliver strategic tax advisory, compliance and risk management for dynamic organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate team members to ensure high‑quality performance.
• Apply complex tax concepts to client engagements, including corporate tax, transfer pricing and international tax.
• Participate in bids and proposals for prospective clients.
• Consult with partners and senior management on technical and risk‑related issues.
• Review complex business tax returns with international elements and recommend tax‑saving opportunities.
• Research and analyse domestic and international tax issues and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, monitoring legislative changes and business developments.
• Oversee corporation tax deliverables within broader projects and coordinate with other tax teams and international member firms.
• Manage tax due‑diligence assignments for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the OECD BEPS Inclusive Framework, including Pillars 1 and 2.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a tax team.
• Solid understanding of complex corporate and international tax concepts.
• Experience reviewing complex tax returns and identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Capability to engage with partners, senior management and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with OECD BEPS Pillars 1 and 2.
