Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Assistant Tax Manager to support our Indirect Tax Manager in Dubai. The role focuses on UAE VAT and Excise tax compliance, handling monthly group filings, audit readiness and special tax projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute end‑to‑end Group VAT and Excise compliance for UAE entities on a monthly basis.
• Assist the Indirect Tax Manager with ad‑hoc tax queries from business stakeholders.
• Support excise product registrations and the application of digital tax stamps.
• Manage VAT group administration, including reconciliations, forecasting and accounting postings.
• Ensure readiness for indirect tax audits and provide support during assessments.
• Participate in VAT refund claims, automation initiatives, e‑invoicing implementation and process improvements.
• Administer and monitor Tax SOX compliance controls.
• Liaise with finance teams, auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification, or actively pursuing one.
• 3–5 years of UAE tax compliance experience, with strong knowledge of VAT and Excise regulations.
• Proven experience in tax reporting and handling multiple tax projects simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with tax/reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of the FTA portal for VAT, Excise and corporate tax.
