Assistant Vice President – Compliance (Health Insurance)

About the role

The Assistant Vice President – Compliance will support the VP‑Compliance in ensuring that the company meets all regulatory requirements related to health insurance in the UAE. The role focuses on compliance with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH) and contributes to the overall compliance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Review health‑insurance products, policy terms, underwriting, enrolment, claims, pre‑authorisation, reimbursement and complaints for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee compliance risks associated with provider networks, brokers, outsourcing partners and TPAs, including due‑diligence, contracts and audit rights.
• Monitor and interpret DHA and DOH regulations, circulars and notices, ensuring timely implementation across relevant departments.
• Maintain a register of applicable health‑insurance regulatory requirements and track the company’s compliance status.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, responses and other information required by health authorities.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits and remediation actions, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Escalate material compliance issues or breaches to the VP‑Compliance.
• Support financial‑crime controls, medical‑fraud investigations and advise on privacy, consent and health‑data sharing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health‑insurance regulatory compliance within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of DHA and DOH regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Health Insurance, Claims, Underwriting, Operations and IT teams.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
