Associate Research Scientist – RNA-MIND Lab (Neuroscience)

About the role

The RNA Modifications, Intellect, and NeuroDegeneration (RNA‑MIND) Laboratory at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms in neuronal cells that could be targeted to prevent, alleviate, and promote recovery from ischemic stroke. The successful candidate will work with human cell lines, primary cultured neurons, and rodent models to study RNA‑modification‑driven regulation of gene expression during neuroinflammation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct experiments using human cell lines, primary neurons, and rodent models to explore RNA modification pathways.
• Collaborate with post‑doctoral associates, senior and junior scientists, and undergraduate students in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Utilize core bioinformatics, sequencing, and high‑performance computing facilities for data analysis.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent terminal degree with at least three years of experience in phase‑separation and RNA‑granule biology (excluding PhD training period).
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to thrive in a highly collaborative setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to neuroscience and biomedical research.
