Business Development Manager – Plastic Raw Materials & Chemicals

About the role

We are looking for a vibrant, entrepreneurial business development professional with strong experience in plastic raw material and industrial chemicals trading. The Business Development Manager will drive growth of existing product lines and launch new business opportunities within our trading platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the business development pipeline – identify, pursue, and close new customer accounts and new principal/supplier relationships.
• Scope, propose, and lead the onboarding of new products or product categories that complement our current portfolio.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets.
• Grow sales of all plastic raw materials – PVC, PET, PS, HDPE, LDPE and engineering plastics – across customers and regions.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, providing support and guidance.
• Regularly visit customers in the UAE and other GCC countries and engage with principals in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of sales/business development experience in plastic raw materials, petrochemicals or industrial chemicals trading.
• Proven track record of opening new accounts, principals or product lines, preferably in a large trading company.
• Existing network of customer and supplier relationships in related product categories.
• Engineer with MBA (preferably Polymer or Chemical Engineer) or similar scientific background.

Required skills

• Knowledge of polymers such as PVC, PET, PS, HDPE, LDPE, ABS, PC, PMMA, SAN.
• Experience with B2B trading and indenting models.
• Strong negotiation and organizational skills.
