Chief Accountant

About the role

Ignite School is looking for a senior accounting professional to lead its finance function. The Chief Accountant will oversee all accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage tuition fee billing and collections.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tuition fee billing, collections, receivables follow‑up and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and auditors.
• Maintain and improve financial data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for revenue and collection tracking.
• Support budgeting, monitor departmental spending and enforce internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, audit standards and school policies.
• Coordinate payroll‑related finance activities with HR and maintain confidentiality.
• Supervise accounting staff and promote timely, accurate finance tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting leadership, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with admissions, parent relations and senior school leadership.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
