Civil Engineer – Ports & Marine Infrastructure

About the role

Moffatt & Nichol’s Civil Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead the detailed design of marine infrastructure, focusing on ports, terminals and waterfront developments. The role involves grading, drainage and wet utilities design within multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support design of marine and port‑related civil works, including roads, grading, drainage and utility networks.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports and construction documents.
• Develop design packages for planning approvals, tendering and construction phases.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, external consultants and clients.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments such as hydrologic, geotechnical and topographic analyses.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and environmental requirements.
• Support QA/QC, cost estimating, scheduling and design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of civil infrastructure design experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Chartered status or active pursuit of chartership (ICE or equivalent).
• Proven ability to manage multiple project deliverables and deadlines.

• AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Drainage design software.
• BIM workflows.
• GIS.
