Commis 1 – Culinary Team Member

About the role

Every memorable dining experience at Fairmont Dubai begins behind the scenes with a dedicated culinary team. As a Commis 1 you will support food preparation, maintain hygiene standards and help deliver exceptional cuisine to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily shift briefings and share ideas in line with Fairmont’s Mission, Vision & Values.
• Ensure accurate storeroom requisitions, proper product rotation and minimise waste.
• Maintain hygiene and health‑safety standards as required by Dubai Municipality.
• Complete grooming, spot‑check and temperature control sheets each shift.
• Check mise en place daily to guarantee freshness and quality.
• Communicate with supervisors and kitchen managers to uphold food consistency.
• Assist with assigning and following up tasks based on business volume.
• Participate in Fairmont managerial courses when offered to develop leadership skills.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and able to work cohesively in a team.
• Calm and courteous focus on guest needs.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel and lift up to 20 lbs during shifts.
