Commis III – Kitchen Team Member

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis III to join the culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. In this role you will support the preparation and execution of high‑quality dishes in a fast‑paced, luxury hotel kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Work efficiently at assigned stations under the direction of the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout service.
• Portion, prepare, and store ingredients to minimize waste and ensure food safety.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production.
• Help with plating and presentation to meet specification standards.
• Support inventory management through stock rotations and counts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a high‑volume kitchen or full‑service hotel.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
