Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer

About the role

Nedbank Private Wealth is seeking a qualified Compliance Officer who will also serve as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its DIFC entity in Dubai. The role combines statutory AML responsibilities with broader regulatory compliance and second‑line risk oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the designated Compliance Officer and MLRO for the DIFC entity, handling all related statutory duties.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the DFSA, responding to enquiries, inspections and regulatory requests.
• Develop, maintain and oversee a compliance monitoring programme to identify and manage regulatory risks.
• Establish and maintain an AML, CFT, sanctions and financial‑crime prevention framework.
• Maintain financial‑crime governance records, including SAR registers and regulatory disclosures.
• Provide independent oversight and challenge to senior management on regulatory, compliance and financial‑crime matters.
• Act as the local second‑line risk representative, ensuring material risks are identified, assessed, escalated and managed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience working with DFSA regulations and UAE AML legislation.
• Proven ability to engage with law‑enforcement and regulatory authorities.
• Strong understanding of AML/CFT/CPF obligations and financial‑crime governance.
• Experience in risk oversight for a DIFC‑based entity.
