Consultant Critical Care Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Critical Care Specialist to join our multidisciplinary ICU team in Dubai. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to critically ill patients, leading clinical teams and ensuring compliance with DHA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical management for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, multi‑organ failure, cardiac, neurological, trauma and post‑operative critical conditions.
• Oversee advanced life‑support interventions including mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor/inotropic therapy, renal replacement therapy, and sedation/analgesia.
• Perform and supervise invasive procedures such as central venous catheterisation, arterial line placement, airway management, intubation and point‑of‑care ultrasound.
• Lead daily ICU rounds, develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with intensivists, surgeons, cardiologists and other specialists.
• Participate in rapid response teams, code‑blue events, on‑call coverage and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents, fellows and nursing staff, and contribute to research and continuing medical education.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Completed residency in Critical Care, Intensive Care, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or related field.
• Recognised fellowship or board certification (CCT, CCST, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board) approved by DHA for consultant registration.
• Extensive experience managing complex ICU patients and leading multidisciplinary teams.
