Consultant Emergency Medicine - ER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Emergency Medicine to join a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering expert emergency care, managing critically ill and trauma patients, and upholding clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Handle medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric and other acute emergencies.
• Perform emergency procedures and interventions within clinical privileges.
• Lead management of major trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, sepsis, respiratory emergencies and other life‑threatening conditions.
• Coordinate with specialists, intensivists, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams for patient disposition.
• Participate in resuscitation teams, cardiac arrest and major trauma response.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff and residents.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and patient‑safety protocols.
• Engage in clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine (Arab Board, American Board, UK/Ireland Fellowship, European Board or equivalent).
• Consultant‑level experience in emergency medicine.
• Current licensure to practice medicine in the UAE.
