Consultant Neurology Physician

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Neurology will lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based neurological care at SSMC in Abu Dhabi. The role involves diagnosing, managing and treating patients while providing clinical leadership and training to junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Conduct inpatient and outpatient ward rounds, review investigations and adjust treatment plans.
• Document clinical information accurately and timely according to hospital procedures.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with other specialties.
• Provide on-call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and administrative duties.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies on admissions, consultations, procedures and discharge.

Required profile

• Board-certified Neurology physician with extensive clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and train junior staff.
• Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
